Three cheers for Dr. Racaniello!!!
by Camp Connell Steve - Feb 28, 2011
Dr. Racaniello has launched his third superb podcast! Having listened to all the This Week in Virology and This Week in Parasitism podcasts, I awaited with anticipation when he announced he would soon start This Week in Microbiology. Having just listened to his first edition of This Week in Microbiology, I am pleased to report he has maintained the very high quality and high production values of his first two offerings. He is a superb teacher and educator, and he makes sure that he picks guests who are themselves also excellent communicators. This is a selfless act on his part, he is deeply committed to promoting science education and it shows in the passion he brings to his mission. Three superb podcasts, so three cheers are in order.

I'm a huge fan of TWiM and TWiP and I'm really excited that TWiM has joined the family. These shows really give me my nerdy microbiology fix when I'm working!
Best set of podcasts out there, period.

What can I say about Dr. Racaniello and his superb guests? IMO he is one of the best teaching scientists since perhaps Feynman. His podcasts actually put most of the published TV new/informational programs to shame. I'm an electrical engineer, and it feels like leaps of knowledge in biology, microbiology and virology when I spend an hour weekly listening to any of the podcasts.

Huge TWiP and TWiV fan. I wish they would do more TWiP episodes though. 1 a month is a cruel tease!
Love the podcast!

Just discovered This Week in Microbiology and the related podcasts in This Week in Parasitism and This Week in Virology. The podcasts are great listening and lots to learn. Perfect for my daily commutes of over an hour!

I've been driving an over the road truck the last few months as a life support gig and finding intellectually stimulating material is the greatest challenge out there. Thank you for this podcast. Your lively discussions really help with the tedium of driving. I'm sure I'm not the target demographic but your time is appreciated.
What a discovery!

I feel so fortunate to have come across this podcast and that Dr. Racaniello et al. are willing to share their expertise and questions with an audience. Being far removed from academia I still thrive on intellectual stimulation and feel as if I'm back in college (in a good way!) while listening to this podcast. I look forward to many more to come.
