A new post on the Bulletin for Atomic Scientists website reviews the U.S. Army's revised regulations for its biomedical labs. The updated requirements intends to clarify vague language in civilian biological agents guidelines. In addition, "the new regulations establish stricter controls on the credentials biosafety officers must obtain and the risk-assessment procedures scientists must undertake. However, the revised language raises questions as to how U.S. Army guidelines will apply to civilian and foreign collaborators."
