This past weekend the USA Science and Engineering Festival came to Washington, D.C. The American Society for Microbiology and MicrobeWorld were present with our own booth in which we offered several microbe-related activities for attendees of all ages.

This image captures the spirit of the two days we were stationed at Freedom Plaza in downtown D.C.

While no official estimates of the number of attendees have been released, we conservatively guesstimate, based on the number of GiantMicrobes and other materials we gave out, that at least 7,000 people stopped by our tent alone.
