Antimicrobial-Resistant Pathogens: An Emerging Pediatric Threat #ICAAC 2010

























Antibiotic resistance has become an increasing cause for concern around the globe, but it poses a unique set of problems for infections in children. Researchers present the latest information on antibiotic-resistant infections of concern to pediatricians including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), other extended-spectrum beta lactamase-producing (ESBL) bacteria (so-called superbugs) and drug-resistant infections in children with cystic fibrosis.
