Save the date for the Keystone Symposia on Molecular & Cellular Biology conference on “The Gut Microbiome: The Immune Effector/Regulator Network,” taking place February 10–15, 2013 at Sagebrush Inn and Conference Center in Taos, New Mexico, USA. Organized by Lloyd H. Kasper of Dartmouth Medical School, Javier Ochoa-Repáraz of EMD Serono, Inc. and Sarkis K. Mazmanian of California Institute of Technology, the conference will: • Convene with a keynote address by Dan R. Littman of New York University School of Medicine, followed by four days of stimulating plenary and poster sessions; • Assemble basic scientists in bacteriology and mucosal immunology with clinicians to explore the role of the microbiota in balancing the effector and regulatory response leading to immune homeostasis; • Generate novel insights into the mechanism of human autoimmunity and shed light on potential new therapeutics, such as ones for treatment of autoimmune conditions such as IBD, CNS and RA; • Provide for ample free time in a beautiful scenic setting for informal networking and collaboration-building.
