The National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID)has announced the availability of two new resources designed to support pneumococcal disease prevention efforts on NFID’s website, Adultvaccination.org:
• a professional practice toolkit for healthcare professionals (HCPs)
The toolkit includes ready-to-use and customizable resources to assist HCPs in educating adult patients about pneumococcal disease and support their in-practice vaccination efforts.
• educational Web pages for consumers.
Adultvaccination.org also houses a patient education page and expert Q&A Web feature with consumer-friendly information about pneumococcal disease. Announcements and widgets to share this information with patient/caregiver audiences are also attached. These are tailored for various audiences with common pneumococcal risk conditions, including heart, liver, and kidney disease; diabetes; asthma; and HIV/AIDS.
