California Beef Recall Due To E. Coli Has Many Worried

A massive beef recall put in motion by a California based meat processor has many worried. Roughly 1 million pounds of ground beef has been recalled due to E. coli.

The fear is that this ground beef has been contaminated with E. coli, and could cause those who consume it to get quite sick.

E. coli is a bacteria that can be potentially fatal, especially to young children, senior citizens, and people with illnesses.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture confirmed the recall on Friday, stating that the Valley Meat Co. from Modesto, California is cooperating with the recall.

There have already been cases of illness tied directly to E. coli bacteria that has been found in the meat.

All of the ground beef that has been recalled by the California company was produced between October 2009 and the middle of January 2010.
