Years later I came across the tragic case of wrester Chris Benoit, who murdered his wife & young son before taking his own life. Rumors had it that the highly athletic & competitive Benoit experienced domestic tensions resulting from his son's Fragile-X syndrome, ultimately contributing to the horrifying crime he committed.
Reading up on Fragile-X at that time & saddened to hear that this syndrome (most common of the inherited causes for intellectual disability) was poorly understood, I hope this development begins a process for treatment or possible cure.
