Ice Nucleation Bacteria, Twitter, and Me!

Image
In this post from my microbiology/education blog, I discuss a post on Boing Boing recently that used a video I had made of ice nucleation bacteria. Ice nucleation bacteria are very interesting of course, and I link to the Boing Boing post. In addition, I provide an additional video of students observing a nucleation event. Finally, I show how this event is used in the classroom, as developed by Jo Handelsman and colleagues.

  1. Congrats on BoingBoing! That's big in geek world.
  2. The funny part is that I didn't even know about it! I only heard about it via Twitter. Still nice. And I'll be more people read that bit from me than ANYTHING I have ever written before.
