phenotypic detection of ESBL by beta lacatmase inhibitor,CA=clavuleic acid..MBL is ambler's class A beta lactamase,which is inhibited by,CA=clavuleic acid .
this research work was performed in our research lab. for academic intertest. at department of clinical microbiology,tribhuvan university teaching hospital in nepal.

RESULT: zone of inhibition of cefotaxime with clavulenic acid (CTX
+CA) is greater than cefotaxime(CTX) alone by : 5mm.
MEDIA used : mulluer hinton agar .
ORGANISM isolated : KLEBISELLA PNEUMONIAE .
so this organism is ESBL producer.
